Armed suspect pursuit North Sacramento — on April 18, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, a pursuit originating with the Citrus Heights Police Department ended on Kenwood Street and Academy Way in North Sacramento. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and Sacramento Police Department assisted, with a law enforcement helicopter providing aerial coordination overhead.

How It Unfolded

The suspect drove the wrong way on multiple occasions during the chase, creating a dangerous situation for other drivers and bystanders. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and Sacramento Police Department both assisted in the pursuit, with air support overhead tracking the vehicle throughout.

Takedown

When law enforcement made contact with the suspect, nonlethal rounds — believed to be rubber bullets or bean bag rounds — were deployed. A K-9 unit also engaged, biting the suspect during the takedown. A Code 3 fire and ambulance response was requested for the K-9 bite injury to the suspect.
